“After the Storm” by Kali Uchis featuring Tyler, the Creator, inspired me to make a short animation to their song. I wanted to show my After Effects skills while intriguing others with my animation. I made my animatic in Procreate to get a better idea of my pacing. Making the animation's overall pacing match the music's beat makes it more fluid. Then, when animating in After Effects, I made my visual elements in Adobe Illustrator to give them a nice, clean look. The color palette is inspired by the sun coming out after the storm, as well as the Isolation album cover, where the song is from.
